Today was a very good day. Bianca and Boukje invited me to do some mountain biking in Bergen op Zoom. The tracks over there are divided in 2 routes, green and black. As the black one is a bit more for experience riders we decided upfront to do the green route.
As the plans where made before I knew I was going to Gent for the six days (indoor track cycling) and would not be home before 2:30 am we decided I would pickup Bianca at 8:30 am….. yes a very short sleep. Boukje would join us at 9:30 am at the start of the route. Unfortunately we had a bit of set back while putting the bikes on the car (had to lower the saddle and remove the bottle cage) but we arrived around 10 minutes late.
At short while later, fixing the bikes and clothes, we joined Boukje and also Bart and Stijn (11 years old). Quickly we did put some air in Bianca’s bike and off we went on the green route. A mixtures of wide bos paths and single tracks took us around the loops of Bergen of Zoom.
As always there was time for picture and chatting along the way. But on the return we went a little detour to Col du Kragge. A single track around the old garbage collection site. Steeps climbs (up to 35%) and rocky downhills made it a very challenging but fun thing to do.
We finished with a cool group picture (Edwin joined us also in the meantime) we finished this beautiful ride under perfect sunny but chilly conditions.
Thanks all it was fun again!
