On Januari 31st I came in contact with Koersplaat about my favorite route, the reason why we started this conversation is because they posted on their Instagram account a route named “Rondje Rotte” which literally is in my backyard. I told them that my favorite route, or the one I am still most proud of, was my Alpe d’HuZes participation in 2015, where I climbed the Alpe d’Huez 5 consecutive times in a row. The fourth one in 40 degrees and the final one in pouring rain. They asked me for my Strava link to see if it was possible to transform this into their beautiful cycling wall art.
On February 3rd I receive the following preview (before everything is final you can still change everything in the process):
As you can see on this view not only the route and all its details are printed but also the elevation profile is captured (white waves), which I think is really amazing. After confirming that all details on the Koersplaat are right the waiting game started.
On Friday 7th of Feb when I got home I saw that I just missed the UPS delivery and that I could pickup my Koersplaat one day later at a pickup location, bummer I had to wait another day.
Finally the day arrived I could open my Koersplaat, after first went to the Hornbach and picked up a wall frame (recommended). The Koersplaat was packed in very thick carton so it is very well protected. Also the material of the Koersplaat itself is very good, it will not wrinkle that easily. Before it put it into the frame I took a picture to show:
After framing it I can say it is just beautiful! I am very blessed with the way they transformed my biggest achievement in something I can look at and get motivation from. At the moment it stands in front of my Zwift station, as I am still recovering from my hip but soon it will be placed on a prominent location in my home.
Thank you Koersplaat for this and I hope to get back to you for my bigger achievements.
